A strong personality is a man of word, who does what he says, has no hypocrisy, who after making mistakes says I was wrong, who doesn’t try to patch-up his mistakes, who doesn’t try to prove himself right. Even after making mistakes, one who can't say I was wrong openly becomes a weak personality.
The "no culture" prevalent among us is a culture of hidden lies. This develops weak personality. When you are honest and speak the truth, you will develop strong personality. If you don’t speak clearly, you are not honest, present justifications, try to prove yourself right, speak lies to show you are right, you will develop weak personality. Then you will not be able to find the truth. A hadith says: المؤمن القوي أحب إلى الله من المؤمن الضعيف (Musnad al-Bazzar 8835) It means: A strong believer is better in the eyes of God than a weak believer. The words used are weak and strong. In one sense, this hadith tells us about weak personality and strong personality. This hadith talks about a person who keeps promises, accepts mistakes in a straightforward manner, if someone asks him anything, he doesn’t beat about the bush but speaks clearly. In one way, he will develop strong personality. In another way, he will develop weak personality. A meaning of this hadith is that more beloved to God is a person who doesn’t have weak personality, rather has strong personality.
